Thanks for the PM - it wasn't who I thought!

I've just checked and I was due to receive seeds from the person you mentioned - but I am sure they came for me.

I had one lot go missing in the post that I sent, but as far as I know wll the others have arrived and been sent back. All bar one that I didn't really expect to come back!
I have to do it straight away or I do forget. I normally send without an SAE unless I've got to send a few then I do ask for one.
I am normally giving away rather than asking so not that bothered about the receiving anything back bit, but as flumery said it can be soooo tempting!

Hope that it wasn't me. Like others, the flesh is willing...
I must say that I have had no problems other than one or two lots going astray.
Actually, now that I think about it I sent peas to one person and asked for pepperdews. Didn't get an answer nor acknowledgement. Important person too.

        Think I will PM Hawthorn!

Recieved a very nice gift from one well known grape.

When I first read the original post, I honestly thought, "Big deal, what are you losing? A few seeds and postage. It's not millions of pounds." But then I realised that the real issue is more the disappointment and anger it causes in someone, plus the lingering suspicion for any future swaps with anyone else new. That loss of trust and bad feeling is something that is very expensive to regain and replace. I almost feel like sending you some random seeds Hawthorns, just to help you regrow your goodwill.

              seed swap

              hello everybody
I have not swapped seed before-usually give away extra plants to friends etc but I'm hoping to take the seed from my lovely dark blue agapanthus(2 diiferent) soon-do I wait until it goes black on the plant?and will definitely have seed from my dark purple hellebore plus some some pink next year-also have doubles.
Hellebores from seed are easy but I gather it takes a few years for the agapanthus to flower so not an immediate gain I'm afraid.
              thanks

                Hi
I have grown agapanthus from seed to and they are easy. You do have to wait for the seed to go black. Yes, they do take a couple of years before they flower. I have always found that agapanthus flower better if they are a bit pot bound to.
Hellebores have popped up all over the place in the shadier parts of my garden but I find
them tricker to grow from seed.
                cheers
                shush

                  hi there
thanks for info-will be a little while yet as still green but if anyone wants some please let me know.
I have grown hellebores from seed but perhaps been lucky-had a load of dark purple single flowered ones.
I tend to sow them in a tray in greenhouse and when big enough put into pots and leave on the 2nd side shelves down of 4ft green plastic greenhouse with door open during the day.Damp shady and warm as south facing.
I have bought a lot of mixed colour double seedlings recently some of which are doing really well and may flower next spring.I have a double pink/green flowering now- it seems quite happy out of season!Seed will be 4/6 weeks?.
I was thrilled this year to have masses of flowers on the biggest ones in 12 inch pots which looked gorgeous in pink and purple when nothing else was-they flowered for weeks.
I have recenly bought a pink Lapageria which was a fairly large plant-it's putting tendrils and masses of leaves out everywhere but some of the leaves are complete lacy skeletals whilst others just have chunks out-haven't seen anything but in case it'e vine weevil/larvae am thinking of getting nematodes which haven't used before.Any one give me advice on that please?
Oh and bye the way got one really large flower which hasn't opened yet can't wait to see it but why only one?
                  any help much appreciated.
                  Arlene
