If you're waiting for hollyhocks!

Hi all,

just wanted to apologise for the delay in sending out the hollyhock seeds to those that asked for them .

When I went to packet them up, I noticed that most of the batch I gathered had for some reason gone grey & fuzzy ().

I don't want to send people naff seeds, so I am going to collect a fresh lot.

May be a week to ten days before I can do this, so please bear with me.

Yeah, you need to really dry your seed off for a few weeks before you pack them up.

I lost a lot this year by keeping them in a dampish shed, instead of bringing them indoors.

I usually put them in a paper bag and hang them from the welsh airer over the boiler in the kitchen.

But these were some I asked my sis to collect from her garden for me and it never occurred to me that she might not have known to keep them somewhere dry - not her fault though, I didn't open the packet to check them til the day I was going to post them out

Never mind, it's a learning curve

I collected some growing by the roadside in BG. I did a google and found that they should be put in the freezer for a few days to kill off maggots or similar.

Just thought I'd pass it on!
