I've just had the last of the seed parcels sent to me and AARRGGHH

I now have a carpet covered in seeds.

Please, if you are donating seeds - can they go into SEALED packets; not pieces of paper with double sided sticky tape which the seeds stick to and then fall out of.......or in opened packets with no tape on them.....or in envelopes that aren't sealed. If they fall out then they aren't any good to anyone really.

I'm also removing the 'inner envelopes' they just bulk out the parcel making it thicker and thus not able to be pushed through letter boxes, and most of them had other stuff in them anyway.

I'm in the middle of splitting the whole bag of seeds into separate types, and will split them down and send out possibly 10-12 parcels.

Please can I ask Grapes NOT to keep hold of them for a month at a time. If you can't sift through and add seeds in a day or two, and make it to the post office to send off the same week, please can you tell me and I'll send it to you when you can...this is supposed to be a quick pass around, and it is not in the spirit to hold onto the packets for weeks on end.

Got the parcel today!! Yippee!! Was having a pretty miserable week and this has just turned it around. Got a list of what's in it from OH (who's at home), got a few funny looks in ASDA as I got all over excited at what was on it. Going to save me a trip to the GC this weekend, so more time for sowing.Thanks again, this is a great idea. I should have quite a bit to add for the next Grape too. Off to read up on how to grow some things.

I got one today too, OH thought I was barking mad and said ' haven't you got enough seeds'. Think he has somewhat missed the point!
Am going to have a rummage and see what goodies I can add.

Just to say I don't want ANY MORE DONATIONS for a while, my OH has had kittens with all these seeds being all over the place for the fortnight...I saw Hay Wayne and Allotment Lady whilst I had the seeds and they can vouch for the sheer amount that were there to be sent out....I think my OH would flip his lid if I had any more delivered

Anyway, I managed to make 13 more parcels out of the 8 that were received, and there was a fair amount of seeds in each. Once the next 2 get too big, then I'll ask the person who is having them next to split them to make 15. I think that's enough to be keeping an eye on.....any more seeds and we are going to have to donate unopened packets to charities or schools; rather than keep splitting them down.

So, if anyone wants to be on the list, or on the list again; please PM me, so that I can put you on the list in order.

I just wanted to bump this....now that we have 13 parcels and lots of Grapes who put their names down haven't responded to the PM asking for their address, we will run out of names in a week or 2.

Just wanted to say a big thankyou to all involved in the seed parcel . I got it yesterday just in time for my birthday & i have to say it's the best pressie i have got .
