  • Parcel Seed Swap

Have received the parcel this morning, so exciting. I have already planted some Fennel and radicchio seeds. What a good collection of seeds.

    Thanks to everyone involved.

          • "Yes, the idea is to put back more than you took out, and when they get big enough we split the parcel. "

I was just about to ask how you stop the parcel becoming so large that it requires a Pickfords van.

We have gone from 2 original parcels, from Two-sheds - to 13 in a year.

I think any more than 15 and we will donate all unopened packs to a charitable cause once or twice a year.....otherwise chaos will ensue.

                • the package I received had in excess of 30 different types of seeds
and cost me £ 1.62 to post on which for the entertainment value was well worth it

As and when you need to donate seeds would it be possible to nominate charities, my kids primary school have started a gardening club on a shoestring and are always begging for seeds, although they get odd packets from me I would love them to have more, and like other I would be more than happy to pay p&P for seeds for them.

Which I think calls for us to say again how much we appreciate the work (including all that we are unaware of) that you are putting in to keeping this swap going for us.
It's enormously helpful to many of us as well as bringing so much pleasure.

                      Thanks zazen!

I felt the same. Been here a few months, and I know nowt! Seed parcel was fabbo - there were loads of seeds I wanted but couldn't use, it was sooooo difficult choosing, luckily I had plenty I could add - I can't wait for the next one!

And if you watered your carpets you'd have sproutlings soon too, from the spillage! *wink*

Still not over that little episode

I've got the family over for a few days, so will get back to people with PMs and addresses once normal service resumes; we are having a quiet 10 minutes as a disney DVD is on before mayhem ensues and we go out for a walk.

                              • I'm sending on the parsel today and I was just wondering if I should remove the out of date seeds? Wonder if it would make sense because at the moment we are paying postage for them each time? they are peas and beans and ummmm coriander... no wait, im having that so just one packet of peas and one of beans. Thanks peeps Hx
