  • Lonas Inodora / Sorghum Bicolor Coloured Uprights

    Seed available ...
Lonas Inodora - nice little bright yellow flower with wiry stems.
Looks good at front of border and lovely as an addition to cut flower bunches.
Flowered all summer long - and looks as if it will dry well too.

Will supply a pinch of seed (enough for at least 50 plants) in exchange for s.a.e.

Sorghum Bicolor Coloured Uprights - Tall, imposing broom corn in a mix of shades from red, gold, black and burgundy. 6 feet tall but strong enough not to need staking. Lovely fresh or dried.
Will supply 10 large seeds in exchange for sae.

My first post .... always looking for suggestions for fillers and foliage to go in with my cut flowers. If you can suggest anything, please advise me.

    Hi farendwoman,
Welcome to the vine. Have you tried hawthorn or beach in your flower arrangements ? At this time of year the colours are amazing. I've had a search round for some photos for you (not mine), just to give you a few ideas.

Thanks for the suggestions Ginger Ninger.
Both would look really good with the autumn coloured flowers like Rudbeckia "Cherokee Sunset" and Rudbeckia "Cherry Brandy" that I've got out in the garden at the moment.

Also thanks for finding the photos for me.
I am not in this league though - I'm afraid that I have no artistic talent whatsoever!

I go for big bunches of daisies or zinnias or sweet williams, with a bit of greenery to finish it all off. The sort of thing that wouldn't look out of place in a jam jar!!

I am always looking for something bushy or "light and airy" to go in with them - and both your suggestions fit the bill.
          Thanks
          Farendwoman

(By the way I have a very similar ginger puss to yours, but mine doesn't have the white throat).
