Hardly NEVER go on holiday, but when I do, yes it's great!! I do honestly take your point that people (tourists) get sort of 'carried away' and think it's all so much more lovely, but you're definitely confusing me with someone else here (!) I'll have to return to Sicily myself then...
On a more practical note, your Cucutzi seeds I am pre-germing on damp kitchen paper at the moment. Can maintain at 'bottom heat' of 25c-32c. Would that be about right? and how long would you expect them to take to germinate at that temperature? They are the only cucurbits out of the range that I'm growing that haven't germinated yet so far via this method...
(might do by morning, as they 'tend to'(!) but nothing so far!) and obviously, if they do, I'll 'hang out the flags to let you know' !!
