  • Wanted: Melon seeds (Sweetheart?)

I fancied trying to grow a small Charentais type melon this year, many recommend Sweetheart.

Has anyone any two or three seeds to swap? What would you like in return?

Thanks for the offer bramble, first I'll have a google about them, if you don't mind, then I'll let you know?

Just checked, its a watermelon and I have to say spitting pips out from them always pee'd me off!

sugar baby - looks interesting though.

I've got some Cantaloupe (i think) seeds. Collective Farm Woman from the real seed company, you're welcome to a few of them if you like. I've not grown anything before let alone melon - too compulsive by half.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass thanks. On your link is 'minnesota midget' we grew them last year, twas okay.

But its true about the scent, you can really smell them when ripe. We picked the first ones WAY too early, but only realised when we got back off a weeks hol to discover one very smelly, light yellow melon in the greenhouse - not a bad taste.

Oh I want to grow a charantais type because we had them on our hols in poitou-charente and they were gorgeous - so just reminiscing!

No nothing, this is my first year, got lottie in October, live in a flat so don't have a garden. Everything I have planted (broad beans, onion, garlic) are all going great guns. Loads of seeds, no experience.
