Newbie's seed offer

Morning all!
I'm a real 'pre-emergent seedling' to all this, so please excuse any mistakes!! I have had a sort through my seed box and now have some swops/s.a.e for seeds:

Squash Yellow Scallop
Squash Blue Hubbard
Squash Sweet Dumpling
Melon Hales Best Jumbo
BB Masterpiece Green Longpod
Asparagus lettuce
Mrs. fortune's Climbing Bean
Salsify Mammoth
Scorzonera Russian Giant
and a few odd free packs of flower seeds from the front of magazines

I'm after anything old/unusual/heritage or really anything suitable for a garden allotment that bakes in summer and sits in a frost pocket the rest of the year!!

Also known as Celtuce, m'dear - but I've never grown it myself.

Busy trying to resist the blue hubbard squash, Rosemary - I've heard they are very good...

A.L or Celtuce as Hazel says, is an easy to grow old sort of lettuce, you can use the leaves as ordinary salad, or keep the stems for cooking like asparagus (hence the name!) We quite like the taste of the leaves, but for another opinion, try What is Celtuce and is celtuce worth growing

Hi Rentawreck - welcome to the vine, and can I just check that you've read the 'seed swap rules' at the top of the seed swap thread?

It's just that making your very first post a request for seeds is a pretty sure fire way to get yourself banned from the vine!
