  • Spanish chilli seeds

    Hi grapes

I’ve just got back from a short work trip to Spain, and while I was there I visited a few local farm shops to sample the produce. One thing I bought a lot of were various fresh and dried peppers – all apparently grown in the region and absolutely delicious. I brought a few back with me and have just eaten a couple – they were about 8 inches long, very mild and are also fairly generous with their seeds.

Anyway, I’m going to try to grow some of these self-saved seeds this year. I have no idea how well they will do in our climate (or even how well they will germinate) but I’ve got over two hundred seeds to play with so far so if anyone wants to try some genuine Spanish pepper seeds then please drop me a PM. I don’t even know what exact variety they are, they look and taste quite a bit like Anaheim to me but that’s not to be taken as gospel!

I’ll put them in packs of about 20-30 and I’ll gladly swap for any other mild/medium chilli seeds or will happily donate to interested grapes for a SAE. PM me.

    Woof

Well done on your find! Far better than a straw donkey! Let us know how you get on with the seed-growing. We recently had a load of Indian and other spices from a freecycler, and there is a box of Mexican dried chillies/peppers, I'm probably wasting my time - and compost, but they're full of seeds, and I just can't resist......

Try germinating some on kitchen paper & save on the compost......... Mine are coming on well.
