  • River Cottage Year H.F.W.

    Hi all,
I have just been given another copy of this great book:
River Cottage Year by Hugh Fearnley Wittingstall
    Paperback
So thought I would offer it up for FREE (just pay postage) to anyone who wants it. (£3.50 should cover it)
Or willing to swap for a good jam preserve book, or River Cottage Autumn DVD.
    Just send me a PM
If there are lots of interest then I shall ask someone to draw straws!!

I've responded in the thread you told me about it in, but if there's room in the hat for my name that'd be great.

              And the Winner is......

              Organic..congratulations!!

Thank you to everyone who asked to be put in the hat, (it was actually a plant pot, but I did think it was quite fitting!) my daughter drew it whilst repotting some toms.

Organic, please PM me and we'll sort out the finer details

It's a good book so hope you enjoy - am getting exciting about the forthcoming hedgerow book written by John who wrote the mushroom book - think it's out in about May but may put out hints for my birthday in August as that'll be in time for the autumn foraging.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'd also be a LOT more confident foraging from hedgerows after reading a book than I would be foraging for mushrooms after the same.

I'd love to know more about muchrooms though. I saw what I think was a massive number of chantrelle when I was doing a spot of wild camping last year... but I couldn't even get close to being sure enough to actually eat them. Shame really.

                        ...and it's here!
I'm so chuffed I even took a photo and blogged about it. I'm a bit funny about books though so it's not unusual for me to overreact a bit!

I really am pleased though - thanks again northepaul!
