I must admit I've not eaten Ezetha's as a mangetout - although you can eat most peas as such if you don't let them start to fill out and the membrane thicken. I understand Blauwschokker means Blue shucking as in the American expression meaning podding peas. They're supposed to be good drying or soup peas too. I eat them fresh. I find them one of the better purple poddeds for fresh eating.

Sorry Two Sheds - bit of a rambling digression there. It's me age!

I think they were from seed that you sent me Flum - if so, thank you !

We tried them as a pea, but found them quite mealy
So then we ate them as a mangey and they were a bit nicer

Ah yes - just like Lancashire Lad then. I think Ezetha's are Dutch and are considered a 'soup pea' there - so should be a good 'mushy'. Not tried them like this myself though.

Carutthers are not a bad purple podded - except they are beggars for getting pea-mothed. Quite a no-no as far as I'm concerned.
