  • Nettle Seeds

Might seem an odd question, but does anyone have any nettle seeds? Now spring has arrived, the local kids have started to cut through the garden (even though I fail to see how it save anything more than about 30 seconds). There is only one part of the wall that is small enough to climb over. I tried putting a bush there, but they just snapped it, so I've had enough and I'm now going to grow some nettles there. Won't physically stop them from climbing over, but they will regret it

I've got quite a few veg seeds to swap, or willing to send SAE. Just let me know what's best for you.

How about Whins? (Gorse or Furze to those south of the border).

    That should stop 'em

Sorry I don't have any seeds

Gooseberry bushes? They'll be just as useful as nettles!

Nettles aren't very high at the moment (they've just started growing) so that won't save your garden at the moment.

How about a bramble, pyracantha or a rose? Other prickly plants are available

When any of mine go to seed, you're more than welcome to the seeds But, it might be quicker to take a small chunk incl roots from some growing elsewhere.
In the meantime, why not try leaving lots of containers of water in that corner, so that wherever they step they get shoefuls of water? (Preferably stinky )

Thanks for the suggestions. Don't really want to buy a bush or plant, as I fear it would just get pulled up (therefore being a waist of money), but I might get a gooseberry bush for somewhere else in the garden I might try a wild rose bush as I have a few in the front garden that haven't started to grow yet. Not even sure where I'd get a Gorse bush from. Had a look online and the cheapest thing I could find was £15 per bush and there are none around here.

Might also look for some nettles growing around here and dig some up....

Buckets of stinky water would be interesting to watch through the kitchen window.

If you can get hold of some horse doings from a field you will have nettles in no time.
You have to loose sight of the shore sometimes to cross new oceans
