oh now come on people surely someone can defend Janek who has cheerfully told 5 of us (so far) that he would send seeds. perhaps someone will jump to his defence, Just because he's Australian dosen't mean we would want this dealt with via a Kangaroo Court
perhaps the customs just have seized all these seed packages, Janek has pointed out how strict they are. what are the chances that they have picked all five (so far) we must be so unluckyLast edited by enrich100; 08-04-2010, 12:21 AM.Thought For The Day

Would it’s criminal past ketchup with it later?

G'Day All Grapes!
I sure am up to my neck in it, aren't I?
First, my sincerest apologies for not finalising my outstanding seed swaps before now. Let me begin by giving you all my firm undertaking that I will get your seeds out to you as soon as possible.
The problem with me is that I tend to be my own worst enemy. Every so often I take on too much, as I did when I entered into the latest bunch of seed swaps, excited about sending some of my rare varieties to others so they can enjoy them as much as I have, while at the same time excited by the prospect of growing out new varieties I am not familiar with. So, the end result is that I got myself bogged down and waylaid with so much that I went off the rails and needed the huge 'kick up the derriere' from you grapes to get me back on track and focus on the tasks at hand!
To the credit of all you grapes, not one of you has lambasted me. This indicates what nice guys you all are, and just reinforces the first impressions I gained when I stumbled upon the GYO forum when googling for something last year. I felt right at home with the friendliness of folks here. And, of course, I still do feel this is a really close global community and I want to do my bit to keep it that way.
Whilst I did get waylaid with my seed swaps I had still done a lot of the spadework in relation to them. Padded mailers had been bought, along with airmail envelopes and international postage stamps. Seed envelopes are ready for filling and I have ready access to most of my seed collection.
Now that I have my ass into gear I will get cracking on finalising outstanding seed swaps. I will keep all of you posted with progress in my PMs, and then let you know when your seeds have been sent. And, it will go without saying that I will include some additional packs of varieties that have done exceptionally well for me, and which ought to do well in your less brutal growing seasons in Britain. Remember, I don't know of any tomato, pepper or aubergine varieties that 'love' our extreme heat, rather there are many which show great resilience in spite of unfavourable growing conditions.
Again, thank you all for your understanding. Two packages will go out tomorrow. I have a load of chilli, pepper and tomato seeds to go into Enrich's seed parcels. Similarly, I have quite a quantity of terrific, rare pumpkin and winter squash seeds to go into Ginger Ninger's Squash Club parcel. I don't grow anything for the rarity factor alone. At the very top of my list of most-desirable attributes is flavour. If something doesn't have great flavour I generally don't grow it again.
Cheers.
JanekHappiness is being with the love of your life. If you can't have that, then an unlimited supply of well-rotted manure is a pretty close second!

Blimey how many people are 'waiting' for Janek?
Has anyone actually received any seeds from him?Last edited by smallblueplanet; 08-04-2010, 01:03 PM.To see a world in a grain of sand

Well, he did ask for seeds after I posted an offer of mine in the seed swap - and sent me lots of information about what he could send and his address - unfortunately he omitted to ask me for my address so it all stopped there...Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Grapes, can I respectfully ask that we stop with the public flogging for now. Janek has publicly stated that the seeds will be sent out tomorrow, and has apologised in a round about fashion.
Can I also ask that any complaints regarding other members or their behaviour are sent to mods and not made public like this.
I understand the frustration, but let's not turn it into a mud-slinging exercise please.
Cheers.
