  • Seed Circle General Swap 3 - 2011-12

The Grapevine Heritage Seed Circle Number 3.

    The idea is
    :

16 of us grow some seeds for sharing out.

    Then we share them out.

    Simples
    .

Where I got the idea from:
    SeedCircle

    Some simple seed saving instructions:
    How To Save Seed

The idea is that this thread can become a place to share what we are growing, when it is coming up to harvesting, and where we are all with things.

Also, post any queries or techniques that we have devised to keep the seed clean; ie hand pollinating squashes.

    Ok - first job.

Post on here which open pollinated or heritage seeds you feel you can save in 2011 - but if you change your mind, no worries.

    First come, first served.....

*There will be a separate circle for peas and beans exclusively but feel free to swap peas and beans on here.

*If anyone else wants to start a circle; then by all means.......

I'm in Definately Galapagos Island toms, pretzel bean and/or lablab beans (if sunny enough). I'm overwintering Dedo peppers so perhaps seeds from them. This year was not a good year for peppers. Can I also join the pea and bean circle - contribution crown peas and triple treat peas.

I'd love to join! Should be able to save some interesting tomato seeds and fat baby achochas. I'll have a better idea once I've planned out properly what I'll be growing at the allotment.

Me too, please!! I'm going to save some HSL as well - though some of my spanish peppers and squashes could be candidates if I can figure out the pollination early enough to isolate!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
