I've got all my seeds now sorted out for this year (unless I get tempted by some more of course...)
I'm growing Marvel of Venice (climbing Italian bean, yellow pods), Eastern Butterwax (dwarf French, HSL, yellowish pods) and Golden Sweet- a yellow podded mange tout. Notice a theme?
I’m going to start some Simpson Special and King Tut for the circle, both climbing peas and I think very tasty. I'm growing Oskar for the first (Real Seeds) I'll sow a few extra to grow for seed and if they are good they may become a candidate too. To really hedge my bets I’m going to be growing several more types so this may all change!
I'll sow Crown Peas (or tufted peas) plus Triple Treat peas. Does anyone have either of these? If a Grape does can they let me know and I'll sow something else (perhaps a soup pea)
The crown peas I have are white flowered, have seen a photo of the salmon flowered ones from the HSL - they do look lovely. I think Flummery (there is an old thread on the Vine and you know your peas) will be able to confirm that Crown Peas are one species although they can have different coloured flowers. All ready to start sowing Triple Treat.
