There used to be more types of crown peas available than today. They have thick, almost fused stems, and the flowers and peas form at the top. Salmon flowered are one kind of crown pea. Never seen the white flowered - this will be interesting!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Quick question... how many plants do you think should be planted to get enough seeds to share around? I have some larger packets of peas/beans which I might grow for the circle, but I also have my HSL packets for this year. Would these smaller packets give enough for 15 people?Hill of Beans updated April 18th

I'm growing Salmon flowered (from another seed saving group) but didn't think I would have enough this year for everyone so good to know tiachica is hoping to grow them for the group.
White flowered crown peas sound super, a real bouquet

just thought i'd touch base....i'll be deciding on my beans this weekend and let you all know. think i'll only offer beans....is that ok?. i have more success with beans than peas, and lots of peas have already been mentioned for the swap.

I'm thinking I may have to gracefully bow out of the circle this year I had terrible germination of my beans, so only have the basics that I sowed a lot of - Cobra, Cosse Violette, Trail of Tears and a handful of Roquencourt.
And now the sparrows have ruined most of my peas too The only 'unusual' ones to make it are the recently sown Salmon-Flowered and Parsley that I got from Zaz, other than that it's a few Telephone and Gladstone that survived the pecking, which I'm pretty sure everyone will have anyway.

Hallo everyone,
I have had to give up my allotment due to having to relocate, so I have lost all my peas and beans. I am really sorry....http://onegardenersadventures.blogspot.com/ updated 10-03-2010 with homebrew pics & allotment pics

Right - first seed saved.
Goldensweet Mange Tout - produced loads of mangtouts earlier; and some we had as light green peas as we missed a few and the rest were left and I took the plants down today.
Will update the first post as we confirm those we have saved so that I can do another guide for everyone.
