Pretty easy. I started mine off in March and then outside after the frosts. the same sort of timing as for morning glory. They sat there for a bit doing not much and then went bonkers. I left them in and the cold and wet eventually did for them. In theory you can overwinter them somewhere frost free for an earlier start the next year. My Mum's in Spain and hers have been going 3 or 4 years now.
