  • Jerusalem Artichokes for SAE or possible swap.

I've got a patch of jerusalem artichokes which is no longer welcome. Nobody I know likes them and I could take them or leave them so you can have as many as you like for the cost of postage and a jiffy. Send the jiffy SAE-style and you'll get it back full of artichokes next week.

They've been in all winter and will be dug up this weekend.

I'll send as many tubers as I can fit within the weight limit of whatever postage you've put on the pack. I'm assuming I won't be able to get them packed small enough to send as a large letter so here are the prices for sending as a "packet":
    Packed weight; Postage; Tubers.
    100g £1.17 (about 3)
    250g £1.51 (about 5)
    500g £1.95 (about 10)
    750g £2.36 (about 15)
    1kg £2.84 (about 20)

The patch is about 2 feet by 8 feet with most of it growing pretty densely so I should have plenty.

    Any takers?

I just realised I didn't include details of the "possible swap".

      HI Big Shot.

Can you stick to seeds/related please for swaps....otherwise we'll have to delete the thread.

      Cheers

        No problem.
        I wasn't aware there was a strict seeds-only or seeds-for-seeds policy.
Thought the book was related enough to be OK. As I said tho, no problem.

Sorry. I have no idea what variety they are as it is an inherited patch. I could take or leave them and nobody else I know likes them so they are coming up. Hence "however many you want". Anything that someone doesn't take will be dumped.

Still plenty of artichokes left for anyone who wants them.
I'll be digging up a few this week, the rest coming out next week.

PMs sent to all who have enquired so far. Anyone else who needs them just get in touch.

He's not been around for a bit Becky, not sure what's happened (hoping all is well). It is a little bit late for planting them, as far as I know/think but nothing ventured, nothing gained
