I keep my packets in a DVD file, so 8 packets per page.

I store mine in a couple of 70 litre plastic boxes, Fruit&Veg in one, Flowers in another.
All of the open packets and my self saved small seeds, I put into small (ebay) ziplok bags and seal up as best I can, sometimes I need to put the bag into another bag if I squeeze them and air comes out.
From past bad experience dont use baby food jars, they don't always close properly and water can get in.
I have used pickled onion jars with good results with big seeds like sweet/popping corn.
And I put the packets into plastic food containers.(not being OCD, we just had a big problem with mice a few years ago when the elderly neighbour died and the vultures... oops, I mean relatives came and cleared the house.)
I then put the boxes in the cellar which is the coolest room in the house.

I have now moved all of my seeds into an old fridge freezer which stopped working.
It is insulated and is also pest proof.

          Hi

          I keep them
A- In the dark (most of them need light to germinate)
B- Cold (most of them need to ba above a cetain temperature to germinate)
          C- Away from air flow

So I keep them in an airtight tuperware food box in the fridge, with one of those bags of silica that you get when you buy a handbag.

I now feel so much better after seeing your seed collection. It's very impressive, will all of those seeds be planted in one year or is there a few years worth?

Looking at that lot MM, I would guess a few years worth. Either that or he has a market stall..........

I was wondering if he plants a few seeds of all of the different varieties each year? I have about 65 kinds of seeds to plant next year and not a lot of growing space. Are we all in the same boat?

I would be too embarrassed to show you my seed stash I seem to do more sorting of seeds than sowing .- Next year, I will do better

Wow, that's a lot of seeds!! There's so many kinds of veg I guess people either end up with a bunch from magazines or there's a sale on and they buy loads (just me? if it's under 50p I'll buy them!!) I tend to dry mine out on the windowsill and then fold a little packet out of greaseproof paper and secure with one of those office bulldog clip things (tiny ones). Sadly, the peppers I most wanted to grow again pretty much every single one had no seeds in! I've got some left on the plants now from summer hoping the longer I leave it the more likely I'll get seeds! Store the lot in a clip shut plastic box - I don't use polybags for seeds as they're see-through! We'll see if my system works when I get to planting, I think I've got some weird pepper/chilli hybrids as I grew them all together last year!!

I like to keep my seeds in compost. They tend to grow better that way!
Tried and Tested...but the results are inconclusive

And I thought my stash of seeds made me a seedaholic!!!!!!
Keep mine in original packets. Self saved seeds are washed and dried, then put in re-sealable bags with a label on to tell me what they are etc. They are then stored in a big plastic box for veg and a quality street container of flower seeds! But the way I'm going, I might need a fridge!!!!!
