Don't suppose anyone has a spare chocolate habanero seedling/plant that they'd be willing to do a swapsee of? Have some interesting chilli seedlings to offer. My choc hab seeds didn't germinate *sob* and they are a fab flavour.

Thanks for the seeds offer northepaul, I'll see how I go with growing a plant this year and let you know if I get no fruit for seed saving. As for germination I do think for some chillies a heated propagator makes all the difference. To see a world in a grain of sand

Have you considered it may be the seed? I've easily germinated white habs - this years from self-saved seeds. The choc habs were from a neighbour who said they'd saved seed from a chilli I gave them, maybe that chilli wasn't the ripest? Anyway other than that I've never had problems with germinting habs in a heated prop.To see a world in a grain of sand

My habs all seem quite reliable, I've got mustard, peach and chocolate saved myself, and some orange ones from the seed circle, all 100% germination. Mind you from the tropical heat pkt bought from T&M I only got 4 out of 6. I'm hoping I get some different coloured habs from them. My plants are too big to send through the post I'm sorry to say (choc and peach ones are in flower from a boxing day sowing). The mustard and orange ones were slower than the others to germinate tho, up to 2 weeks later.I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
Now a little Shrinking Violet.
