  • Free cucamelon, cucumbers, basil, peppers and different tomato's

I know i am not allowed to ask for seeds but i am sure there is no rule about giving them away

I have had a wonderful crop and brilliant fruit of yellow pear toms and have a lot of seeds that i could ever use up. First year i have grown and will always…..well hopefully

Same with cucamelon and normal cucumbers. i have 1000's

I have a variety of black, could be brandywine or black russian, tastes amazing

Also bought some cherry tomato plants from a garden centre and they have been the best ever, 1000's of tomatoes and massive plants, best cherry toms i have ever grown, will grow again if they take.

Wonderful massive basil this year and saved a lot of seed.

Have Italian peppers and this Spanish pepper which is small and some are hot others sweet. lovely.

Just put into ferment today, and will be coming from Spain so will be about 2 ish weeks. If anyone wants any let me know.

Hi Lisa, perhaps you would like to swap them in our virtual seed parcel.

You could hang on to your seeds until you've made 50 posts and been a member for a month. Then you can swap into the VSP - as long as we can arrange something with the postage!

Keep posting and it'll actually get easier to offer your seeds through the seed swap!

Do tell us about your veg plot ...plans etc,
...and piccies would be more than welcome!( yup, we're a nosy lot!

Ok well the seeds won't be ready for a while, just got carried away, when you see so many why not safe them all.

Postage is not bad at all i can send back to you guys for about 80 pence, and think it's about the same back to me. cheaper than buying seeds anyway

Its not the cost,Lisa - its the stamps! If you're using the VSP, you need to send me stamps for the return postage, but they would have to be British stamps, not Spanish ones.
One day there'll be worldwide postage stamps and we'll be able to send anything from anywhere.

Oh ok i think i need to learn some more about VSP.

There is a english company that sends all post through the royal mail and can get stamps there i think. but i don't think i would be able to use them. I guess i could give them to my mum in the UK

Sorry to sound dumb but why would you need to return?

I am going to have a look now

                      Thanks

                        I see, i think i get it.

No problem, i can send stamps i think I will work out with my local "english post office" how many i would need to send maybe 3 instead of 2.

If you are ok for me to join in being in Spain, i do not want to cause you more work. Maybe i have special things over here

Just need a month to pass, tick tock

The VSP is a seed swap so once you've sent in your seed packets the SAE is for the seeds you're selected to be returned

You're right Lisa. If you're just donating seeds and don't want any back there's no need for return stamps. But when you see what's in there, you'll probably want some of them

Like you, I'm quite new here too, and I live in mainland Europe, and I'm also very interested in seed saving and swapping.

I did my first 50 posts in no time. I think I got a bit of "the gift of the gab" from the many years I lived in Ireland So now I'm just waiting to finish my first month of membership and then I can join in seed swaps and the Virtual Seed Parcel. I'll be interested in swapping with you as well. Some of your cucamelon seeds would be nice.

I asked about joining the seed circle too, but the organiser wants to confine it to the UK. And the French VSP seems not to be available any more. So I've been thinking about starting some kind of Euro VSP or seed circle.

Another thing to think about, Lisa, is that most people who are into saving and swapping seeds want to know the exact variety name, and that it's not an F1 hybrid, which won't come true from seed.

So your Yellow Pears and cucamelons are fine. The cucumbers and cherry tomatoes might be fine if you know their variety name, but many cucumbers and tomatoes nowadays are hybrids.

Some people might take a chance on "a variety of black, could be brandywine or black russian, tastes amazing" but I would only want it if I knew it was one I haven't already got. Black Brandywine is OK, or Paul Robeson, but I already have Black Russian and several other black ones.
