I've just joined, only just found the site. I read the sticky about seed swaps but it's not clear. I understand that I can't ask for seeds but if someone has posted that certain seeds are available if anyone wants them, can I reply and say yes please and send them a SAE or do a straight swap? Or do I have to wait till I've been around a month and 50 posts?

Welcome to the vine Snow.
If you start posting now by asking questions and joining in some of the discussions you will soon have posted the required amount and will be time qualified when the sowing season starts. I expect the seeds othered have already been snapped up by someone. I am sure veggiechicken be be along to explain it all later.

Hi Snow and welcome to the vine.
Regardless of whether you swap seeds via the VSP or via a post/ thread you need to be a member for a month and have done 50 posts. (Which is surprisingly easy) This rule was decided by peeps on here and peeps do stick to it. In regards to the swap its self it tends to be common practice that you send a SAE for what you would like.
Hope that makes sense. Have fun on the vineLast edited by Norfolkgrey; 02-11-2014, 08:32 AM.

Hello Snow and welcome to the Forum.
As Greenleaves and Norfolk Grey have said, you need to have been a member for at least a month and to have made 50 posts. Its a "swap" whether you're swapping your own seeds or by sending a stamped addressed envelope (SAE). Post numbers soon mount up if you become an active member of the Forum - look at Norfolk Grey's for example
Some people join the forum after doing a search for Free Seeds but sadly, they're sometimes attracted by the word "Free" and not by an interest in gardening. So stick around, tell us about your garden and what you like to grow etc and you'll soon qualify
For ease of reference, here's a link to the Seed Swap Rules http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...nce_76437.html
