Think positive, this year will be the year of lots of goodies and lots and lots of seeds. Anyone is welcome to join, as long as you meet the vine rules by November time.

Save 2 varieties of either peas or beans (no F1's) with 10-15 seeds per pack.

No pressure, register your interest - and the varieties you fancy saving if you know what you are going to grow. However we all know the best intended plans can go wrong, so do not panic

In that case I'd love to join in too Peas can be a bit difficult here, though I'm still going to try some. But French beans usually do well. I have lots of different ones in my stash and I'm not sure which ones I'll grow yet. I mentioned some possibilities in another beany thread so I won't repeat them here, but I'll let you know later when I have some actually growing..

I was reading on the UK Post Office website that it's now possible to buy postage online and print it out on a piece of paper. I'm thinking that would make it much easier for people outside the UK to join in with the seed circles and parcels. Has anyone tried it?

I tried it a long time ago and went to the post office to drop them off only to be told that it is not a great way to do it. They rechecked the parcels and most of them were wrong. (Some overpaid, some underpaid)

I'd like to join but with limited space this year I'm not sure my varieties are very interesting

I have sugarsnap peas, dwarf borlotti beans, Sutton broad beans and runner beans butler and prizewinner

I'd like to join as well, and while I can't promise anything after a true disaster with my beans last year I'll try and provide one dwarf french bean (probably a yellow podded, traditional, half-climbing one) and one climbing variety (which could be Major Cook's). I might even have a funny little pea if all goes well, with very ornamental leaves similar to those of an acacia.

Vixylix - unless you have your two runner varieties a great distance apart (and nobody else grows any near yours) you won't be able to save seed because they will definitely cross. French (or garden) beans self-pollinate, but runner beans are outbreeders and are pollinated by insects, so to keep a variety pure it has to be isolated. (The same is true for broad beans, btw).
Still, sugarsnaps and dwarf borlottis are a nice addition

assuming that everything goes to plan, I'll be saving 'Lord Leicester' tall pea and Czar runner bean.
The runners I will be growing in my garden at home. None of my immediate neighbours grow veggies so I'm hoping that they'll come true. They are also creamy white beans so if they were to cross, I think rogue beans would be easy to spot.
