An idea up for discussion and expressions of interest!
I'm thinking of starting a Real Seed Parcel (RSP) which would be circulated around a small group of Grapes. This isn't a new idea for the Forum but, because parcels "went missing" it was discontinued - and lead to the creation of the Virtual Seed Parcel (VSP).
My initial thoughts are -
- limited to 20 members who must have been members for 3 months and made 50 posts.
- 20 packets of seed in the parcel - take as many as you like but replace with the same number of packets to keep it at 20. No duplicates.
- postage kept at 1 large postage stamp (weight less than 100g), so stamps could be bought in advance (96p 1st class, 75p 2nd class)
- seeds should be in date and full packets; not self saved.
- seeds should not be from the cover of GYO magazine (as many of us will have those).
- seeds should be a bit different - not Moneymaker tomato, All year round cauli etc
- parcel should be posted within 2 days of receipt
- message posted on here when parcel posted and to whom.
- each member to PM their address to the one before them on the list and ensure they have the address of the one who's after them for sending seeds to.
- members going away while the RSP is en route to them should opt out until their return
- anyone who "loses" the parcel or delays passing it on will not be included in any future RSPs.
What have I missed and would it work?
