Don't despair Jay, I had nothing but greenery for ages then the flowers suddenly "arrived"
Stay hopeful for a bit longer

Jay & VC they are probably too small to flower this year. If you give them a good feed over the next couple of weeks they should bulk up a lot for next year.

I should say that mine didn't come from Sparrow so they might have been bigger when they were planted, sorry if I confused you. I'll be interested to hear what to feed with too

Something potash-rich to top dress (rose food?), but BFB/Growmore will do equally well. I find that it makes it too interesting for foxes to use BFB without then netting the beds.

I give them a slight feed in Jan/Feb too before the foliage starts to die back.

Very kind of you, but the ones I sent out were small starter corms.

You need 6-7cm circumference minimum to ensure flowering - the bigger the better. The huge ones (13cm and up) I have a few of will flower up to 4 times, but they then make smaller corms for next year.

How did you manage to like sparrows post twice VC?

I thought when I bought mine it said they would flower this year so I will take the advice and wait a bit longer and also feed them up for next year.

You should have been sold corms of a size to flower this year Jay - I'd contact your supplier to complain if they didn't.

And VC that is very clever!!

Just checked sparrow, they company I bought them from does say that some of the bulbs may not flower this year and if this happens to do as you say and feed them and they should flower next year.
