Jay & VC they are probably too small to flower this year. If you give them a good feed over the next couple of weeks they should bulk up a lot for next year.

I should say that mine didn't come from Sparrow so they might have been bigger when they were planted, sorry if I confused you. I'll be interested to hear what to feed with too
A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot! (Thomas Edward Brown)
Something potash-rich to top dress (rose food?), but BFB/Growmore will do equally well. I find that it makes it too interesting for foxes to use BFB without then netting the beds.
I give them a slight feed in Jan/Feb too before the foliage starts to die back.
Thank you sparrow. Oh and scarey mine didn't come from sparrow either...maybe we should have gotten some of hers instead!
Very kind of you, but the ones I sent out were small starter corms.
You need 6-7cm circumference minimum to ensure flowering - the bigger the better. The huge ones (13cm and up) I have a few of will flower up to 4 times, but they then make smaller corms for next year.
Just checked sparrow, they company I bought them from does say that some of the bulbs may not flower this year and if this happens to do as you say and feed them and they should flower next year.
