  • Pomegranate?

Hi everyone. I would really like to grow a pomegranate, but I cant find seeds anywhere, and I cant find any fruits in my local shops, would anyone out there have any or know where I could get some? I have a range of seeds I could swap.
    Thanks
    Naomi

Asian grocery shops sell them as well Naomi.

I'm just back from Turkey and must say that pomegranate trees look absolutely gorgeous, very ornamental with their tiny green fruit.

I'm gonna try and grow one too now that you've mentioned it

          Hi.
I live in Chepstow, and have looked in Tesco, Somerfield and Lidl. There isnt a Morrisons near me, and I dont know of any asian food shops near me either. Apparently you should leave the fruit to mature until it is almost going off before you harvest the seeds. I will keep looking! Thanks for the replies.

Naomi, I saw pomegranates on sale in Sainsbury's this very morning, £1.39 apiece.

I grew a pomegranate from a seed taken from a supermarket fruit I ate a year or so ago. It didn't grow very tall and died back the first year but sprang back to life this year until about a month ago when it just died on me.

Catherine, I grow quite a few herbs from seed, is there anything particular you'd like. I'd love to have another go at pomegranate.

I have just bought a pomegranate from the supermarket. I have heard the best way to prepare them is to let the fruit rot so that the seeds ferment inside the fruit, and they will germinate better. If anyone would like some seeds let me know and I will send them once they are ready.
