  • 2018 = Seeds I've saved today

Its a good time of year to wander around your garden/plot, looking for seed heads to save.
There's plenty of advice on other threads about how to save various types of seeds, so this thread is just to list those you've collected and inspire the rest of us.
They don't have to be seeds for swapping, just saved for your own satisfaction.

    Today, I've saved:-
    Chives,
    Nigella
    Calendula.

This week, foxgloves, musk mallow, calendula - one was a lovely primrose yellow colour, but no doubt it's crossed with the bright orange next to it and won't come the same colour from seed, oriental poppy, and sweet rocket.

              Last week, annual poppies.
              Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
              Endless wonder.

I'm spreading seeds from Welsh Poppy, Wild Foxglove, Old fashioned mop head Aquilegia and a few Honesty and Pansies for next year, the rest of the weeds don't seem to need my help lol.

Foxgloves in the forest and then I spread them around in places where there are none. I always imagined digitalis would be large seeds, how wrong can you be?
Petunia from plants rescued dying from Homebase, trouble is despite their beauty no flying insects seem to go near them.

I have been wandering around with various tubs to put seeds in. So far:
                      nigella
                      magnolia blossom tendril pea
                      red swan beans
                      naughty mariella marigolds
                      black scabious
                      cerinthe
                      borage
                      sunflowers
squidgy, stinky potato apples for true potato seed
                      various tomatoes
Dobies purple beetroot - masses of this, I should have enough seed to supply a whole country!

Seeds I have saved so far this year:
Beans - dwarf acquilon and 2 weird mutations of borlotti.
Dried beans for eating - CToT, borlotti, gigantes, yard/snake beans.
Chilli - three padron peppers drying nicely, red chilli seeds from coop that was really spicy
                        Tomato - Roma
Salads - some rocket that flowered before i got a chance to eat them
Squash - hoping to harvest the seeds for sowing for the uchiki kuri and Anna Swartz hubbard.

Chopped the seed heads off lettuce and shook them over the GH beds.
Popped a few more dried bean pods for assorted, unnamed beans.
