Growing blueberries in the polytunnel

I had a few fruit on my plants - planning to replant them in larger containers for over-wintering.

I have lots of blueberries in pots. The two I moved into polytunnel did well but the birds got any growing outside. I think I need a fruit cage.
I just do not understand why the birds ever touch the autumn raspberries but devour the blueberries.
