Biggest muddle of plants in a PT or GH ?

Just sitting contemplating in my large PT this afternoon ( everyone has their own skills I'm sure) and it occurred to me to wonder if I have the most disorganised melange of plants in a garden sized structure (6m x 3m).

Now it has to be said a) I'm not claiming this is a good thing nor b) that some of it is not accidental - because it is. I built this PT in an area of the garden which used to loosely be a veg/fruit bed principally because its the only flattish space which wasn't being something-else like a lawn or an orchard. So some plants got the PT built over them rather than being deliberately planted inside.

These hang-overs include :-
two cherry trees
two Tayberries
a grapevine
two gooseberry bushes
a small flowered rose
some rosa rugosa bushes (pink)
some forsythia and a currant of some kind, possibly black

Planted introductions include :-
another cherry tree (don't ask)
another grapevine (roots outside)
a lemon tree
broad beans
peas ( the alderman have just started flowering - always amuses me to have pea flowers above head high)
Tomatoes (4 sorts)
cucumbers
borlotti beans
sweetheart cabbages
spring onions
and radishes

stuff in containers :-
a dwarf nectarine
another cherry tree (I know)
two sorts of strawberry ( the remontant type I grew from seed looks to be 2 weeks from having ripe fruit on it)
more tomatoes
winter-sweet seedlings
sunflowers
a couple of trays of perennial flower seeds
some meconopsis betonicifiolia seedlings
some pots of potatoes
herbs like parsley and coriander
a loquat
several trays of plants grown from seed to go in the hanging baskets
nasturtium seedlings
two buckets of purple podded pea seedlings (seed swap)

- fortunately no pear tree - though I did spot two partridges, one of whom was having a dust bath on the other side of the road from my drive the other day :-)

(and yes I have moved a few things out, like the exochorda macracantha and an American pillar rose + soem of the rugosas.)

I don't see anything wrong with any of that. Plus, I think it's impossible to have too many cherry trees. Just my opinion, of course.

The only thing is... maybe you could do with a bigger PT.

Sounds quite normal to me
I've just been taking some photos around the garden and this is my netted GH (3 6x8 frames bolted together and covered with debris netting).



The raspberries are there because the frames were put up over and old raspberry site (can't call it a bed as it sounds too organised).
There are 2 grapevines, 3 dwarf peach trees, a blackcurrant (don't know how that got there), some perennial cauliflowers, cabbages in pots, strawberries, onions and shallots that were planted 2 years ago and forgotten about - not sure what else.

I thought everyone gardened in a muddle.

Case closed then - I have gone bonkers - lovely photos BTW VC - but I think I may have spotted a square inch of unused space in one of them :-)

I don't see anything wrong with any of that. Plus, I think it's impossible to have too many cherry trees. Just my opinion, of course.

The only thing is... maybe you could do with a bigger PT.

Fair point well made - in fact my poly-tunnel structure is loose at one end because I bought the polythene sheeting as a bundle, it was significantly longer than the structure I had erected - so I've now bought a few more hoops 2nd hand, with a view to extending :-)

Are you sure you not using too much space for the paths?

All trees are banished from my main GHs...the extra grapes were gifted as the old one that I have crops so well I never use them all and I can't give them away

B) a certain amount of crawling is necessary at some points - good for the mature figure I'm told :-)

That's a good effort Scarlet - but definitely on the tidy side - my dahlias got booted out a while ago and are mostly planted up outside - a decision I may come to regret, depending on how the weather goes :-(

Hmm, they easily get frosted....some of mine that were touching the window just a month ago had it. I will be fleecing mine on the weekend.
I lost a few last year to late frost.
