  • second hand Poly tunnel frame costs

I know this may sound like a "how longs a piece of string" question, but if i was to look for a second hand poly tunnel frame, whats a decent/fair price?
Is the majority of cost to a poly tunnel the cover itself?
I'm looking in the region of a frame around the size of 10ft by 20-25ft second hand, for those that know a little about cost/repairs of poly tunnel, whats the most you would pay for something this size?
    All thoughts welcome

I've seen decent sized frames for £150 or so on FB Marketplace. A bit more on fleabay.

The cover for mine cost just over £90 with all the trimmings such as hot spot tape and repair tape... as well as two clasps for the two doors. So no, I think a frame will cost at least as much as the plastic

      Thanks
Is £150 a fair price for a bare frame?
Are there more flimsy frames on the market and how can I tell which is a decent frame to buy?

It really does depend on the quality / thickness of the steel and if it comes with everything you need to attach it to the floor. I saw a good quality, second hand one the same as ours (frame only) for £250 which which seemed reasonable as it had the door frames too and the anchor plates for the floor. It's 36x14ft and is made of 33mm galvenised steel. Big and solid. Ours was £675 without the doors. They were not a huge expense tho.

I bought a frame about 10' x 20' from memory for £25 on Ebay with the proviso I helped dismantle it - bit rusty in paces but pretty solid - using it to extend my existing PT.

I didn't go to see it, as I already have a frame on my plot (it was used as a cage before I took the plot over, so came with the plot). But, it looked solid, and was just the right size for the plot, so if I had had the money at the time, I would definitely have got it.

If I was you, I'd look into the cost of new PTs that fit what you want - then it's much easier to figure out what the second frames are worth to you. Oh, and the PTs you can find on fleabay that look a bit like inflated blowaway that are dirt cheap... is because most of the time they are literally just that... inflated blowaways.
