    Very interesting reading the above.
My toms got blight and ended up throwing them all out end of July. I grow a lot of plants for friends and most of them have had toms right up to October.
Have stripped the greenhouse right back and cleaned everything and repainted it. Also used smokes again so hope the toms do well this coming season.
    Bob.

All that shouldn't be necessary. Blight spores cannot survive long without a host, so they won't survive over winter on hard surfaces nor in the soil.
If you got blight so early, you should instead be looking at where it might have come from outside. It usually overwinters on potato tubers, and then rogue potato plants come up next year, get blight early, they spread it to other plants.

Absolutely loads of snails on my lottie this year, polytunnel has been invaded despite my copper tape barrier at every entrance, no idea how they get in!!

It's always swings and roundabouts though:

runner beans died off really early this year, was still just picking them this time last year.

Zero potato blight last year because of lack of rain, so small potatoes - this year blight was pretty early but we had tons of rain so the Maris Piper I had to harvest 6 weeks earlier than last year were 3 times the size with many big enough for bakers.

Humans can do a lot, but Mother nature is ultimately in charge
        Are y'oroight booy?
