Hi all. About insulation! I plan to dig down along the outside footings about 2 feet deep and place 2 inch thick styrofoam along the entire out side walls of the greenhouse. I also plan to dig out the inside floor about 1 foot deep and place the styrofoam sheeting on the floor and add sand or small pea gravel on top. This will help a great deal as a lot of cold enters from the floor area. without doing so it's kinda like having the greenhouse on top of a block of ice. I do use shelving and nothing I have grows off the floor. this is for cutting heating costs. I live in the U.S.A. and a newbe to this site so I hope you understand this posting. I really enjoy being a member of Grapevine by reading and learning from the many postings. This site is GREAT.
