  • Eeep! Tell me I won't regret this!

I've just bought a polycarb 7 x 12 foot greenhouse for a little over £400 delivered. It's a bit more than I'd budgeted on but the 'house is a lot bigger than I was hoping for!

The one I had this year was a plastic one about half the size and even in my first year of 'proper' growing was full to bursting.

    So, please remind me that:

    a) a greenhouse pays for itself in the end, with all that lovely veg and cut flowers

    and

    b) it's ok to spend money on yourself sometimes

    Claire
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Did you know a greenhouse can pay for itself very quickly in salads, flowers and veg.

Also its law that you spend money on yourself for a few treads.

I've spent a fortune on myself this year in treats and feel marvelous in doing so.

And i'm not buying any presents for anybody this Christmas its all me me me.!

Good for you. Madmax bought me an 8 x 6 last year and I wish I had at least 2 of them!! It will pay for itself in enjoyment if nothing else.

Hope you enjoy your new greenhouse, and its deffo the rules hereabouts that you have to treat yourself every once in a while, plus you'll soon recoup all the costs!

          Good for you!!!!
About time you put yourself afore the kids!!

They will learn a lot from seeing what you do in there and it will alter their lives for the better .

Maybe I might learn from your 'bravery' /common sense now????

( see how easy it is to support than actually do for ones self!)

I love my greenhouse. It's in the garden and it's my little haven from the outside world/work/4 children etc etc. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours to the full so it will be well worth every penny. Just think how much a gym membership/beauty salon appointments could cost over the years and you'll feel very proud of your purchase.

            Have fun!

When we moved to our new house 3 years ago it had a greenhouse, I'd never had one before - now I couldn't think about growing stuff without one!

Seahorse, it will pay for itself with fruit veg and crops abut also holistically by giving you a fabulous place to enjoy some "you" time.

You will never regret it and the size is big enough to allow you lots of choice wih regards what to grow.

Dont forget, if you get stuck!!!!

I have never got hung up on whether gardening pays for itself - although many grapes here have costed things out and assure me it does. My reasoning is that it's worth it for the exercise, the pure enjoyment (which EVERYONE should be allowed - ESPECIALLY mums!) and the quality of the produce. However, if you just used it to produce bunches of flowers for the house and never ate a thing from it - think of the fuel miles you are saving!

Well done for your significant help in saving the planet!

My first signature line on here was 'A moment enjoyed is never wasted' - one of my favourite sayings. You will be a better mum for the recreation and mental and spiritual re-fuelling that will take place in there. I wish mine were larger - I have a 6 ft x 10ft.
Cut the angst kid, and get in there and have some fun!

                              Thankyou again

I think that's so true that it will pay for itself in mental health benefits, as well as crops! And cutting down on food miles is another good one!

And especial thanks to PW for being so very kind.
