i have a few pots of onions growing in my greenhouse but i have found that some have a grey powdery mould on the leaves. should i throw them away

They might be suffering from a bit of damp. Give them a wash (I'm a great believer in washing leaves!) then make sure you open a window in the day and let the place air. It's very easy to let a greenhouse get damp in winter and botritis and such can set in. Don't ditch them unless they keel over - you never know.Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

just because its gone funny of the leaves - it doesn't mean to say the onions will be bad.
maybe dig around them with a knife and have a quick look and as flummery says: give them a wash - it should kill the damp mould.
if you are not growing organic go and get some spray.All vehicles now running 100% biodiesel...
