Seen A Poly Tunnel For Sale.....

It is 10 feet x 6.5ft and is supplied flat packed. It is to go on my allotment which is only 5 rods anyway. I think it would be about the right size for the plot (so not to invade it).

Could people please tell me what is good to grow in these and when they should be planted?

You can grow anything in a polytunnel which can be grown outside, but earlier & later than normal as the crops are protected. You can also grow stuff which is meant to be under-cover - i.e. indoor cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, chillis, melons. Basically, the world's your oyster!

Do you mean a plastic cloche? How high?

Watch the frame on those, they can snap as you bend them!

you get a big sheet of perforated polythene? 14 plastic rods, seven connectors so you end up with 7 longer rods, which then you bend over and stick both ends into the ground at 1 metre intervals. Then you stretch the poly over the arcs and use the ties provided to gather the poly together at each end. There are then two tent pegs to secure the ties in to the ground.

me and number 1 son got a tunnel cloch from wilko's last year it was a load of tosh the rods snapped so we patched it p with a length of hose placed over the stumps of the rods and it worked fine

Thanks for the good idea i.e. hose lengths. Hopefully it'll be warm enough not to snap, but at least I have a replacement idea if it all goes belly up

DH bought a couple of these, put the first one together and yep, last hoop decided to break. DD came out with some tape and we've mended the hoop. No longer a semi circle, but at least it's still connected, strange shape, but covers the row.
