  • Should GYO have a dedicated Polytunnel section?

Do you think that there is the demand for a polytunnel magazine (section)?

It should cover crop rotation, floor plans, ventilation, plants best planted by the door, companion plants, irrigation, design, use of double skins, etc...

May be interesting to know as a % how many people have a polytunnel.

eg if 10% of people on 'vine have a polytunnel....90% do not so articles will be of limited interest.

May be an argument for an 'Undercover' section encompasing polytunnels, greenhouses, cold frames etc.

I'd be interested in a beginners guide to growing undercover, but cant see me having a polytunnel really. got a cold frame (homemade) and tiny plastic greenhouse, so my next step will be a proper greenhouse I think.

Geordie, I think thats a great idea but do greenhouses polytunnels and cold frames. Every one of us on the vine will be sure to have one of these at least.

Some of us more than one

Great idea Geordie, I think that growing in frames & cloches is almost becoming a lots art these days. How many of us build Hot Beds like my dad used to? I don't for one, I think we are all guilty of the 'Must have now' culture.

Gee Whiz ! How quickly did the poll get closed Didn't get to vote, and the question wasn't there, but I would like to see a section on growing under cover - whether cloches, cold frames, greenhouses or polytunnels and maybe even windowsills

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.
