I bought one of these last week, cost me £40 so at £20 seems a bargain. Having said that I have fired off an e-mail of complaint to the manufacturer today, there are 2 chimneys and 4 wicks and one of the wheels to adjust the wicks has stopped working already so only 3 on at the moment. The chimneys have the word HOT and a small hole underneath it, but one of mine is apparently upside down with the hole at the top. I have found it difficult to relight when switched off as the chimneys are fastened on to a metal spreader at the top by pushing them on to clips and when I pick the whole thing up the chimneys keep falling off. So at the moment not impressed even if they had cost me £20!

i got two of these lucky for me they were marked down to a tener each but only one in use as there were no screws with one and the other had bent chimney so put them together got one good one and one that can easily be fixed. i might email a moan as well.
I'd rather regret the things i've done than regret not doing them at all.

If you have a BATA farm supplier near you parafin is 80p a litre. Just take your container to put it in.

I'm taking mine back today to get a refund! Just spoken to Customer Services at Parasene the manufacturer and they are aware of design faults. They offered to send me replacement parts but as the only part I haven't had problems with is the base that holds the paraffin, I declined their offer. Will try a temporary electric heater tonight.

Paraffin in my area in Derbyshire is selling at £4.99 for 4 Ltr from local shop or in other places £5.99 (4 Ltr)

                      parrafin heating

hi have you ever tried using red diesel in your heater it burns pretty much the same as parrafin and is cheaper and now adays the quality is better because they put less dye in it because they put an isotope in it so that it can be traced if it is put in road vehicles even if it has been processed to remove the dye by shaddy characters as i have tried it my self and have fould no problems

Can the fumes or soot from the parrafin be harmful to the baby plants? I've got one in my 6x4 greenhouse and they don't seem to be doing very well. The outer edges of the leaves are going brown and some of them are shrivelling up completley. I've also got bubble wrap for insulation, could it be a ventelation problem? The greenhouse does smell of parrafin. Any advise appreciated.

my teenage daughter very kindly turned my paraffin heater out for me in my greenhouse; unfortunately she turned the wick down so far that it has vanished off the wheel.......anyone got any ideas on how to repair this??
