Polycarbonate greenhouse

Just wondered if anyone has or has any opinions on the Keter Greenhouse range made of polycarbonate

Polycarbonate greenhouse

It looks good value at £200 and more importantly it looks quite safe as i have two young children who would quite happily run headfirst into a glass version....

have seen this one erected in a garden centre and it didn't seem very stable to me, if you get a lot of wind it could be a bad buy, a small polytunnel might be a better idea good luck

ive seen this in my local wyevale an as i went inside an had a touchy feely,it did seem very stable to me cos of the wieght,i dunno ,would like to hear what other peeps say about it. i am very tempted tho, anyone??????

similar to the billy oh greenhouse i just put up...just make sure the base is secured properly...i used 6 x 2 screwed into a wooden deck to hold it down

My OH has bought me one for my birthday, we are just waiting for it to be delivered. We too had a walk round one in our local Wyevale It seemed OK. The bit I'm worried about is the "very easy to put up" How easy do they mean by easy. The last one was metal with 1000's bits that all looked the same, a nightmare had to get Son-in-law to see to it. Never want to go through that again.

ive got a 6x4 greenhouse from norfolk greenhouses it was a nightmare to put up. its very sound. the wind is no bother. just wish i got a bigger 1.

Up date on my greenhouse
The greenhouse is up and running now. The instructions that came with it said "allow 180 minuets to build" Took us nearly two days
It said it was easy to build, some parts just slid in and others was a right pain, used up a lot off WD40 and a lot of bad language.
As for sturdiness it will be alright for some one like me who has grown up children but I dont think it will stand up to say young children kicking footballs against it.
But having said all that I am still happy OH bought it for me. Hope this helps.

took all weekend for my gardman poly greenhouse to be done,it does need good securing though as they are not as stable as glass greenhouses .but at least the panes dont crack.

Jo,Jo, how did you manage to fit the door onto your Gardman? OH built mine at the weekend but the door is still sitting there until we work out how to hang/attach it. Help!

sorry cant remember oh had a right job with it,he thinks it some thing to do with the rollers you have to slide them onto the top of the frame.sorry could not help some more x

Oh oh no chance of me being able to erect one then wonder if crowndale could???? Good old wd40 to the rescue as always! Where would we girls be without it?

If your still around Lady Jane Muck; HELP PLEASE. You say some parts just slid together and others were a real pain, well I'm at the real pain bit, with wd40, washing up liquid etc and about to give up. I have the 4 sides up and am trying to put the 1st roof panel in place. The P1 roof panel wont even go all the way into extruded aliminium horizontal window top piece even when I am holding it on the ground, let alone when it is fixed to the top of the window and flapping around.
Even with washing up liquid, the fit is so tight that it actually pushes the liquid out as you insert the roof panel into the alloy piece. And if your strong enough to continue, the alloy piece just starts to slice off bits of plastic until it really get stuck.
Any advice would be gratefully received, I'm seriously thinking of taking it down and throwing it down the local tip, seriously, as they just wont fit.

I have just spend the past few days trying to erect my 8x6 easy Build Greenhouse, to say it was a pain in the a**se would be a serious understatement.
The instructions say 180 minutes - it took my hubby and I about 15 hours of blood sweat and tears in total because as you say the panels do not slide together very well and even with copious amount s of WD etc the aluminium bits guage the plastic, our main problem was getting the bottom corner pieces to saty in. Every time we got the corner metal rod down past the clear panels the bottom green panel poppped out of place - you do need a good hardflat surface to work on but we still ended up cable tying the corners to keep them in!
We almost gave up at one point - I have aggravated a neck problem that was healing and hubby now has a pulled stomache muscle from all the straining to get the metal bits to slide in (even with a rubber mallet it took a lot of muscle to do).
With hindsight - I wish I had called my local flat-pack man to do the work.
Be very careful that you have the door frame in correctly - we didnt and had to re-do it!
Good Luck - dont give up, once you manage to finish it you will be really chuffed with the results - once all the roof and corner brackets are in - its really stable and solid.
