Hello all, this is my 1st time I've had a greenhouse and used bubble wrap over winter. What advice about when to remove the bubble wrap. I've noticed alot of condensation building up over the nights. I guess this is a sign of nights getting warmer. I have peppers & chillies toms growing in there so I need the temp in there quite warm. I have a heater so Any advice welcome please

i think if u have a heater u dont need the bubble wrap...or again if u have bubble wrap u wont need a heater...just gonna be a light chance of frosts up our way from now i think

We grow our chillies are in an unheated greenhouse, we just use a heated propagator to germinate them.

Take the bubble wrap off, clean the glass or plastic, ventilate well on warm days (we've had a few) and hope that spring is finally here.

i have been using the underlay stuff you put under laminate flooring and found it to be ok.
is bubble wrap better?
were do you get alot of bubble wrap?

Hi I got my wrap off ebay, I think we have one more cold week and then I'll takethe wrap off and look forward to a long warm summer. I have 2 windows so I vent them through the day. Thanks for everyones imput

During the winter I put polystyrene insulation sheets against the bottom sections of the greenhouse wall and then bubble wrap the rest. This dramitically reduces the amount of heating I have to do which is good for my pocket. I still have a heater but it is only needed in the deepest colds as I only want to keep mine frost free - I feel quite strongly that we're missing the point if we're fooling plants by having our greenhouses hot over winter and it's a wanton waste of resources. I took my insulation off a few weeks ago and reinstated my auto vents last weekend. Will install shading later in the season.

By the way, if you're careful and dry the bubble wrap out then it will last a few years and the polystyrene sheets should last forever.

dont use any heaters in my poloycarb greenhouse or bubble wrap will be using bubble wrap next january me thinks.it was steaming hot in my greenhouse yesterday,and the sun is coming through now as i speak and clearing the rain away.
