What size? Were the instructions understandable? Ours took ages, the instructions were pathetic, diagrams too small to see, bits unrecognisable. However once put together it's still up and working well. Sliding window was a nightmare - wouldn't stay where it was put, but have modified with a Heath Robinson construction of wires.

When we moved here 4 years ago I decided to go for polycarbonate instead of glass. The first one delivered from B&Q had a number of cracked panes, so had to be returned. This took 2 weeks for them to collect, and a further 2 weeks to deliver, they wouldn't send the replacement before they had checked out the broken one. Only problem was, the second one was also cracked, so was sent straight back on the same delivery van. We never even got to trying to put them up

I now have a glass one (8x6), and despite the fact we have a VERY windy back garden it is still as solid as a rock and I've never had any problems with it.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Palram polycarbonate 6x10 roof help please

Just bought this greenhouse from B&Q. the 6x10 I am working with, and reading online the 6x8 instructions it appears to be the same. By the way, this is certainly not a 3hr construction time as indicated, and the side panels are really tricky to get in correctly.

Anyway, have constructed the frame and fixed in place all of the polycarbonate sides. I am having difficulty in putting the polycarbonate roof on.

If the plastic clips are positioned on the side of the gutter as shown in the diagram, the polycarbonate sheet fits, but the edge is inside the gutter. When it rains ( tested with hose pipe on spray) water runs not only into the gutter, but also a lot goes down the inside of the greenhouse - is this right ?

You can position the polycarbonate sheet into the second grove closer to the gutter, but the plastic clip connection is not right, and is not mechanically fixed.

You can position the polycarbonate sheet over the top of the gutter, and in fact the plastic side clips still fix it into position OK, however, you now get a gap at the apex of the roof.

So, please can someone advise me. Should I use uPVC sealant ? A photo of a constructed roof would really help. I am still waiting for Palram to get back to me on this matter.

I bought my greenhouse 20 + years ago! It is a good old B&Q 6x8 popular. From what I remember it went up fairly well! It is still standing now the only thing that has had to be replaced is some of the glass. The staging is a bit past it now as well it has gone a bit rusty but after 20 odd years I'm so not complaining! Next year some new staging I think, or perhaps some 2nd hand that Is in better condition than mine!
