Raised beds?

I have had fantastic success with raised beds this year

Is it worth a similar punt in your greenhouse?

Maybe just the one end?

Grow tomatoes, chillis normally, with the 2nd house, cucumbers, melons & gooseberrys

Would appreciate any of your experience

as long as u can get the depth in the greenhouse...remember tho the soil will need changing after a while...

I was going to lift the slabs, are use the earth below for the main depth.

The front edge is built onto the edge of the slabs to keep it level but I lifted all the slabs within. Filled with strawy manure with a capping of compost and growing toms and peppers in it!

PS I was asked if I wanted a load of logs for my woodburning stove (on the left as you go in) The load was on a tipper truck and I had to take all or nothing. Also on the truck was a stone fireplace! Thats what I built the raised bed with. Externally that side of the greenhouse base is built of upended paving flags which dictate the height of the bed! Next winter I might add a bit cement to my dry stone wall!

Raised beds in the greenhouse will reduce your cropping height - so might be an issue for Toms and Cues.

I "step down" into my greenhouse, so that the plants have maximum cropping height.

Luckily, my greenhouse is a home made lean-to which is about 10 foot high on the bed side. The toms I'm growing there are a bush type and I have a 'shelf' at about 6 foot high which I am also growing jalapeno's on!

On reflection, this would definately be an issue. Melons as well.

Might try it one side for the chilli's

Put raised beds on both sides, and one end in the greenhouse that is sited on soil. Best Grapes tradition of course, found some old planks somewhere that were perfect for the job

Very pleased indeed with the results, and will be doing the same to the second now.

Plants are bigger, better crops, not so affected by drying out. Cucumbers are a huge success

Slight downside if any, you cant squeeze quite so many plants into the same area. Mind you I grow too many anyway
