  • Slow release tomato food

Is there anything that could be used a s aslow release tomato food to go for 2 weeks while I am on hols?

I have the watering sorted out via drippers but am concerned about food I know I could give them a good feed the day before I go and then again when I get back, but would prefer something more sustained.

    Any ideas?

I don't think they are going to hurt for two weeks. I think the instructions to feed twice a week, or more, are more to do with selling fertilizer, rather than having sweet tasty fruit!

I'm with Kristen. A fortnight is neither here nor there in term of the fruiting life of your plants. They'll be fine.

PS We fitted out our new shed 2 weeks ago and I've still to find my tomato food! - I've given then seaweed fertiliser in between - think I'm going to have to get another bottle!

would you not think of getting comfrey root cuttings and next year you can make you own liquid feed which will be ideal for tomatoes due to the level of potash in comfrey liquid feed

I think they'll be fine - you could try mulching them with manure which will release nutrients when they're watered?

Sheeps poo in the water?(yes I know where bears do it)put in a sack rather than try to get them to straddle over your water butt.
