    Hi Galileo,

It was leaking at the glazing strips in the roof, so all the glass was taken back out and silicone applied at the direction of rhino. I'm not sure how the water is getting in now but on Thursday there was 1" plus inside the glasshouse.

I don't think the base that was done by the contractors is totally correct, so I plan to get it dismantled at some point and move it to paddock. Then replace it with a 2nd peritys dutchlight on a dwarf wall providing we are happy with the build quality.

You live and learn as they say.

    Glad yours is trouble free.

Mate that is a fantastic greenhouse. Only just seen this post but very envious. You've clearly put a lot of work into getting it and then putting it together, and the end result looks great.

Hi Galileo, like you I'm the proud owner of a not so new,(but in good condition) greenhouse, which after a tough few weeks over crimbo and new year we ( hubby and I finally managed to fathom the jigsaw out and get it put together). We bought it after seeing an ad in "pre-loved. We live in S Wales just off the M4 so a trip to Berkshire was not totally out of the question. That was back in Nov 08. We paid £250 for it and all its extras. Nobody from our allotment could give us info on who made it tho, up until last week that is (after we had finished ereting it! Lol). I went online looking for spares and found a company in North Wales that carried a lot of varying brands (but not this one, but he did know a man that did etc). Eventually our greenhouse turned out to be a Hartley-Botanic Highgrow10, and costs approx £3,500 new. We estimated that between staging, shelving in the eaves, water butts etc that it would have added another £300 or thereabouts. I reckon our 2 hr journey was well worth it - she looks magnificent - I just need to get my plot up to the same standard now. Hey-ho. Time and a bit of hard graft. Will post some piccies when the site is in better shape

          Best Regards

I'm resurrecting this thread because I *might* be getting a Rhino for Xmas (fingers and toes crossed).
I'm already dreading the construction process. I've considered a cheaper greenhouse, but the Rhino promises to be gale-proof, and it comes with all the ventilation you could need. Apparently ventilation is more expensive than glass

You might remember I got knocked off my bike in June? I still have pain in my lower back which looks to be permanent. I can't bend or raise my left leg without pain: I have to sit down to put my shoes on now.

Anyhoo: the compensation cheque is due next month, and it just about covers a Rhino.
While I'm no fan of compensation culture, solicitors are stepping into the gap left by the police, who are failing to take careless & dangerous drivers off the road: they took no action against the driver who simply 'didn't see' me

I agree about the compo culture, but like you say, sometimes it's the only recourse.

But what an expensive GH? I hope it's all it claims to be

Me too: but I don't run a car, so I don't feel too bad about spending the money on something that I really will get the use of.
I'm going to sleep on it (actually, I've been saving up and researching for about 5 years).
I thought I'd go for the cheaper option, but really can't cope with the glass continually popping out in our high winds, and the ventilation and/or leakage problems that you get with cheaper models.

The chap on the phone convinced me the Rhino was made up to a standard, not down to a price (sounds like I swallowed their brochure, doesn't it?)

I think you're doing the right thing using the money on something you normally wouldn't spend that amount on.

Off to drool over the Rhino's.

What size are you going for TS? The polycarb one I bought last year drives me nuts.

Two_sheds - you asked this ages ago and I'd forgotten until I saw this.....these are the people that made and fitted our greenhouse.

We went for them because they were local; and they had to come back with half unmade frame as the newly built back gate was too big for the pieces; but they were true to their word and fitted on the day and glazed just like they said. A good transaction [a few issues with the frame, but really really minor and picky, such as the window opener notch being in the wrong place] but it's stood up to our winds that whistle across from the fields and I love it

I can just about squeeze a 10x6 on the patio. Mr S has OK'd it

I did look at a local supplier, but the quality of the greenhouse wasn't all that. We aren't moving house again, so I want something that is a pleasure to use, not a pain.
I'm a bit scared: I've never owned something so expensive
