Chillis in greenhouse over winter?

I only had 2 plants this year- one has been rubbish- the other is just coming into flower!!!!

The latter has been dug up and put into a plantpot to come indoors for the winter. I wonder if I should remove the flowers or let it do it's own thing???

do NOT remove the flowers, just wait and see, i have a plant that was bare of chillies but had flowers last week, i ignored it and today on checking it, it has set at least ten fruits...............worse than toms for keeping you guessing, and the weather we have had this year, I don't think the plant even knows what is going on.

i have an outhouse/utillity room only has a backdoor window for light and is unheated do you think the chilli plants would be better o/w here or just left in the unheated green house??

I don't know where you live but certainly around me, an unheated greenhouse would not be warm enough, however would provide good light. If they are in pots, would it be possible to leave them in the greenhouse when it is warmer and bring into your utility room during frosty spells?

I'm contemplating similar things with sweet peppers - wondering whether it will be too hot inside for them when they're supposed to be dormant, as the only big enough window is on the first floor. They are big plants - 2-3 foot high - so some of them will have to stay out and take their chances ...

I left several in my greenhouse over winter. The heater comes on to prevent frost. Some survived and some didn't and of the ones that survived some produced chillis and some didn't.

This post isn't a great deal of use, is it??

definately a weird year for it, mentioned my neglect of my bell peppers in another post.
suffice to say after all they have been through this summer, the lil' beggers are all producing fruits like mad in the last 4/5 days??

they seem to like the sunny windowsill upstairs so I shant be moving them now until the fruits are finished, or the windows get REALLY cold ( although they are double glazed).

have already moved some staging inside the patio doors in the back room ready for them to overwinter, north facing, but quite light and central heating will keep the temp up.

Luckily I still had four plants left so here's hoping.

I have brought my chillies indoors for the winter. I didn't do very well this year at first but with the aid of a paint brush we finally got quite a few. Only one had turned red so as they are planted 3 to a trough , I have taken the whole thing indoors and put it by the french windows in the hope they will ripen. I will keep them going for as long as poss just to see what happens.
