has anyone seen or heard of any plans for building a greenhouse from double glazed unit,s i've just acquired about ten double units that won,t split so thought give it a go

Can't say I have, but I use 4 secondary double glazed unit that my dad gave me, to make cloches. Very effective too!

Would the double glazing stop the sun from warming the greenhouse properly? The object of double glazing is to stop the transfer of heat fom one side to the other.

We have a double glazed conservatory that gets roasting hot with a little bit of sun in the middle of winter, I managed to lose most of my early brassicaes last spring because it got so hot.

one of the bod on our lottie site has just made a greedhouse with UPVC windows but the weren't double glazed. I'm going to move my shed on the lottie to make a lean to G/H and that will be made from 10 sheets of the twin wall that is used in conservatory roofs (2nd hand for £40) and two double glazed windows from our house that were replaced this year and a double glazed wooden door as well ! but the windows have two top opening windows so I hope they should be OK and I can always let it vent into the shed as well to get rid of excess heat.
