Hooray! Got me a second-hand greenhouse

The house next-door-but-one to us has an unused greenhouse in their garden. A while back I mentioned in to my next-door neighbour, who told me it belonged to the bloke who was several tennants back who died and nobody who's lived there since has ever used it. We ummed and aahed about who that meant it belonged to as the house has been empty for a while...

Anyway, the council have been round this week sorting the house out for someone to move in. My lovely neighbour collared the bloke doing the work and found it he'd been told to remove it and chuck it away as it 's in the way of where the fence should be that he has to replace. So he's agreed that if we shift it this weekend I can have it for nowt and it's one less job for him to do.

hooray! We'll be busy on Saturday

Hopefully we should be able to shift the frame complete once we've taken the glass out. It's only a small one and I'm happy to believe for now that it won't be that heavy. We'll see...

oohhh great now you can have some more fun,well done your neighbour,lucky you not got far to move it,is it possible to only remove the glass,so the frame can be moved in one go,this we have done with helping hands,saves a lot of time and new words,have fun

Isn't the hyphen a wonderful thing - you could so easily of had your second hand-greenhouse. Imagine that!

Good luck moving it - remember to put masking tape with numbers/letters on any joints that you dismantle/glass you take out so that you know where it all goes when you put it back together again.

I've been going through all the old posts on here about moving them. Lots of top tips out there. Shall resist the urge to rush in and tear it to bits without thinking a bit first.

That's what I like to hear!!! More tomatoes - I've just pulled the rest of mine up yesterday - one Aurora fruited from 8th June until yesterday - not a bad result if you ask me.

Started making passata yesterday, and finishing it off now. Love it.

Take lots of pictures and label everything.

Is it bolted down? or cemented in the ground? if so the bolts may be rusted and have to be drilled out. Give yourself plenty of time it will take twice as long as you think!!
