  • Keeping frost off.

Bit of a random thought. My greenhouse is small, 6x6. Would some 8hr tealights raise the temperature up a degree or two overnight? Just found a bagful in a cupboard.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

There's one way to find out, I'm just relying on fleece

I use fleece and put sheets of bubble wrap on top.
I try to do this while there is still some heat in the greenhouse.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

        one tealight produces 100BTU
        100 BTU = 0.0293 kW

and the average green house heaters are 2kw? so that would be 68 tealights needed?

Haha! Thanks everyone for indulging my random thoughts. It would have looked very pretty though.
I used newspaper in the end and everything was fine, nothing tender in there yet, still bringing them in overnight.

Huh. That's actually a lot fewer than I would have expected.
