Went down to the allotments yesterday for the first time in a week, just to see if everything was OK.
I had moved the "polytunnel", well one of those 3x2m tubular greenhouses, in between the shed and the greenhouse. Thought it would be nice and sheltered there. The back end was protruding past them at the back, so I lashed that end down.
As I came down the hill, I thought that's not where I left it.
It had been blown over my fence and was now residing in a tree about a 100m away. Buy first I had to get to the tree.
I tried stamping down the bramble thicket that was the last 25m but was not doing my legs the world of good. So it was back to the shed to get cutters.
Cut a path through but then couldn't get the thing down out of the tree, I had to get it down as the tree was the last place before a busy road.
Back to the shed and get the loppers.
Managed to get it down but it fell into the thicket. More cutting.
Eventually dismantled it and took it back to my plots.
Only three damaged tubes, which hopefully I'll be able to repair but interesting patterns on arms, legs and chest.
I said to OH before going, I'll just pop down the plots on the way back from the dump and Tescos (no they are not one and the same place), three and a half hours later I got home.
