I have had a new patio base laid ready for my greenhouse. My question is, do I still need to purchase the greenhouse base from the supplier?

If you are planning fixing the g/house to the patio, then probably not, the base will add both height and strength to the greenhouse if it's used. I am in a windy coastal spot so I used the base, indeed I think it was included in the price. -
Another point to consider is the height you want inside the new GH. An extra 6 or 8" may not sound like much, but if it means you don't have to bend over to get to parts of the GH, then it may be a long term plus for your back. One possible compromise would be to get the new GH erected without glazing it and then see how it feels when you are inside it - if it feels like more height would be a big plus you could even make your own base out of wood or concrete and lift the unglazed structure on to it.Comment
